The Nappy Bag by Mrs H

Front of bag showing flap with a magnetic snap that secures a large slip pocket.

I recently participated in a fun sew along led by Samantha Jane Hussey (Sewing Patterns by Mrs H) who designed The Nappy Bag. This is a wonderful large bag with lots of storage features that will work as a diaper or nappy bag or an overnight bag. The Nappy Bag has shoulder straps and an adjustable cross-body strap. It finishes 18" wide by 10" high by 5" deep. You can get your own pattern by clicking here.

I decided to make this bag for use by my youngest grandson, so chose a fun cotton fabric from my stash. The pattern has very clear directions, with lots of photos. It does have a lot of pattern pieces, so staying organized is a must.

I really enjoyed making this bag and love all the organizational features. The top double zipper (although one can use a single zipper) is great for allowing complete access to the entire hidden corners in this bag! I also thoroghly enjoyed the sew along and the fine mini-tutorials and helps offered by Samantha Jane Hussey throughout the process.

Until next time, may you sew with joy, stay healthy and be filled with God's awesome blessings!

  1. Love your bag and that gorgeous fun fabric.

  2. Nice Bag! I need to get this pattern! Not sure why I have not yet! I know some grandkids that could use this!
